Paint! Work's In Progress -February 2009. Two
new larger canvases have been started. The first
painting
is another in the 'tobacco series', in a vertical
format on canvas with a working title of "Oak
Shadows with Tobacco and Barn." The second
piece features a figure surveying an early morning
waterfront scene. Look for them to be completed
late winter. |

Recently
completed painting! -January
2009 After a long delay caused by
his debilitating crash mentioned below, Duane has
completed his latest 'tobacco' series work. Titled "August
Tobacco with Barn, Stokesdale, NC", the work
continues Duane's exploration of North Carolina
landscape through agricultural themed landscapes. |

Duane's
convalescencing after
accident suffered while test driving a cambered
3 wheeled scooter. The event occurred while
duane was attempting to master a downhill slalom
technique which ended with a bone shattering
crash. Duane's leg and pride were shattered,
his leg into 10 fractures that effect the
knee, tibia, and fibula. Two surgeries later,
Duane hopes to walk again in the Spring of
2009.

is taking shape on his easel. The work features
a favorite
tobacco barn located north of Greensboro, also
shown in his painting "July Tobacco." Working
title is "Tobacco with Barn", acrylic
on linen, 22 x 28". |

Colors" Exhibit -The
Junior League of Raleigh and Visual Art Exchange
teamed
up to
produce this juried exhibition, which opened
during a special Gala preview of A Shopping
SPREE! Duane's
painting sold on opening night, and was awarded
by the jury First Place!

Tours Tuscany! A trip to Italy
included tours of Florence, Siena, and more.
The trip has inspired news works that honor the
beauty and romantacism of classical art. An example
